CPTDB is my favorite forum for discussion of North American public transit operations and fleets. It also features an excellent wiki of transit agencies and manufacturers that I help maintain.

It's phenomenal how long those Phantoms have held on. 21 years of service without getting retired by MTS!

Do you have any links to these materials?

Hmm, sorry about that! Here's 902, spotted this morning on the 150 at VA Medical Center. I also saw 904 on the 31. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

South Bay 2000 C40LF 2202 still hanging on this morning. Haven't seen any of these out in months, and their 1600-series main-fleet counterparts are long retired. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Rapid XN60 on the SuperLoop on Tuesday. Very rare to see an XN60 on a non-Rapid route, and for the 201 to run with an artic rather than the specially-branded GE35LFRs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any word on when they start getting here?

Ah, good info! And you might be right -- I don't know anything firm about the timing of these orders.

Wait -- are we sure this has anything to do with E60s? My reading of the article was that an existing order for 40-footers was changed to 60-footers, but it's not clear that they're electric trolleys (in fact, one article calls them "motor coaches": http://sfbay.ca/2014/10/01/sfmta-lands-grant-funds-for-new-muni-buses/). Also, there are more than 12 E60s to replace, right? Of course, replacements for the E60s are coming, but maybe a little later (http://www.fleetsandfuels.com/fleet-order/2013/08/seattle-and-san-francisco-trolley-buses/).

Do you know if KMD will get any Gilligs or hand-me-downs from IAD to replace 1801-1840?

Good point! I also remember Gillig making the argument that another selling point of the larger tires is that they last longer.

Spotted this tableau of three liveries of Muni NABI relegated to training coach duty on Sloat Boulevard today (8017, 8032, 8040). I think the blue one might have been an NX-Judah Express coach, although previously I'd only ever seen Gilligs branded for it. (By the way, the last day of Gilligs on the NX was last Friday; it is now served by regular-Muni-branded Xcelsiors: http://www.sfexamine...ent?oid=2648902).
